Friends of the AACR Foundation hold 2025 Party with a Purpose gala

On Sunday, October 26, 2025, The Friends of the AACR Foundation held its 22nd annual Party With a Purpose gala at the Hilton Philadelphia Penn’s Landing. Proceeds raised were dedicated to lifesaving research in melanoma and skin cancer through the American Association for Cancer Research.
New to the Party with a Purpose this year was the Community Impact Award, which was presented to the Tara Miller Melanoma Foundation, founded 2014 by attorney Tara Miller after she received a melanoma diagnosis. Miller passed away that same year at 29 years old, but the foundation that bears her name continues its work in raising money for further melanoma research.
1. Lynn M. Schuchter, MD, received the Scientific Achievement Award. Dr. Schuchter is the director of the Tara Miller Melanoma Center at the University of Pennsylvania Abramson Cancer Center. Dr. Schuchter paused for a photo with Sarah and Dan Keating and Lauren Miller during the reception.
2. Melissa Ludwig chatted with Larry McMichael and Patricia Wellenbach, who received the Humanitarian Honoree Award.
3. The event began with cocktails, butlered hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction followed by dinner. Maureen Winigrad, Roberta Kitchenoff and Linda and Jason Brajer attended Party With A Purpose.
