Berwyn Farmers Market holds National Farmers Market Week celebration

National Farmers’ Market Week returned on Sunday, August 3 – it runs to to Saturday, August 9, 2025. Berwyn Farmers’ Market hosted their annual Tomatopalooza as part of the festivities to shine the spotlight on the importance of local farmers and locally sourced foods. This was not just a tomato party, but a bold, delicious and educational reminder of why local food and farmers matter. The open-air, all-ages, no charge celebration, honored the queen of summer produce in all its varieties from heirlooms, hybrids and everything in between. In top of the food, fun and family activities, this event was designed to honor and bring attention to National Farmers’ Market Week. For over 25 years, this national celebration highlights the vital role farmers’ markets play in the nation’s food systems. This very timely celebration spotlights community, food access, supporting local, and sustainability. Carlo Luciano and Erika Duncan organized the event

2. Connie and Blake Chau brought their ”Sweet Corn “Popcorn ” stand to the event!

3. Erika Duncan, Tyler Will and Vlad Puskovitch (dressed in tomato) style!) greeted shoppers and their families at the Farmers Market entrance! Festivities and education programs also included: Complimentary tomato samples,” tomato-themed and inspired vendor items, gifts and live music

3. Entertainment include giveaway baskets and prizes; opportunities to meet and interact with local farmers and purveyors; I Heart Farmers’ Markets temp tattoos; Tomato themed decorations and much more. This couple enjoyed their visit to the grand opening of the Berwyn Farmers Market!

6. Sean McDernott of Oak Nut Farm brought his culinary harvest product to the event. and “Tomato Guy, ” Vlad Puskovitch joined Lizzy Friedman and Joshua Freed in a photo ”op” as they made their purchases!

6. Easttown Library with tomato-themed family activity were among the vendors at the event, Donna Lang and Margaret Mackenzie manned the stand!
