Countdown to The 250 Showcase Celebration kicks off at the Barnes Foundation
1. On Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at The Barnes Foundation the first annual Countdown to the 250th Celebration took place. It was the official kickoff party to Philly’s next big moment ,the 250th anniversary of the nation and 2026 marquee events such as FIFA’s World Cup Games, MLB All-Star Game, among others. The evening began with a cocktail reception and remarks from Honorable Edward G. Rendell. Program organizers, and other notable attendees including Jane Golden (Mural Arts), Angela Val (Visit Philly), Michael DelBene (Welcome America) Rev. Dr. Lorina Marshall-Blake, Vik Dewan (Philadelphia Zoo), were among many other civically-engaged Philadelphians attending. Mayoral candidate Rebecca Rhinehart, Lisa Deats, Philadelphia Parks and Recreation Commissioner Katherine Ott Lovell and Amy Needle gathered for a photo at the event
