Rachelle has Private Shopping, COVID-19-Conscious Closet Cleanouts, Consignment & One-On-One Stylists and there is a bit of Beverly Hills in Bryn Mawr and it could be hanging in your closet!
Rachelle Designer Boutique & Consignment, 839 ½ Lancaster Ave., in Bryn Mawr is a high-end consignment boutique specializing in designer clothes, jewelry, handbags, and accessories – a lot of which is straight from the stars of Beverly Hills! Owner Shelly Furman, said through connections, she has made over the years she has been able to become THE consignment boutique for many of Hollywood’s largest stars and socialites from across the country.
“Pre-COVID I was flying to the West Coast monthly to gather clothes and accessories from some very well-known celebrities. They give me their items to consign and then when they sell, they donate their proceeds to their favorite charities,” Furman explained.
The items sold at Rachelle are new or gently used and are current looks. “Some of our West Coast consignors are giving me new, unworn items that they receive from their stylists,” Furman said adding, “We also do a significant amount of consignment from this area as well.” Rachelle accepts consignment on-site but can also send a fashion stylist adhering to all COVID guidelines, to your home to help you determine what to keep and what to purge. Consigning is a great way to streamline your closet and make money for the items you no longer want or wear.
“What sets us apart are the items that we sell. We are a beautiful boutique – and about to celebrate one year in this location,” Furman said adding that Rachelle has been in business in Bryn Mawr for 8 years. “If you did not know we were a consignment store, you would think and feel like you were in any high-end women’s boutique – many new customers who come in don’t even realize at first that we are consignment since the items are displayed so elegantly. We also have a Yamaha Baby Grand player piano in the center of the store that adds fun to the ambiance,”
she added.
The stylists at Rachelle are not salespeople, they are experts in their field with decades of fashion and design experience.
Not only does Rachelle offer looks from the runway and red carpet, but they also carry unique, special pieces such as rare vintage Chanel handbags. “We are extremely particular about the items we sell so anything we have in the store must look or be new,” she said.
In order to adapt to COVID Rachelle offers private shopping opportunities, as well as, curbside drop-off and pick-up. Rachelle can help you find that perfect Valentine’s Day gift for your significant other with just a phone call. That item will be wrapped and ready for pick-up making shopping a breeze.
For those that are looking for a safe and fun way to spend a day or evening – Rachelle offers private shopping events for groups of up to five. “You and your friends will have the entire store to shop and be styled,” Furman said. Masks are required at all times and all items are sanitized after being tried on.
A private shopping event is a great way to spend Galentine’s Day, and Rachelle will host groups on February 11, 12, and 13 by appointment and there will be special takeaway items for each group!
