New York celebrity hairstylist Joel Warren and Philadelphia’s most sought after hairstylist Artur Kirsh to open The Salon Project at Saks Fifth Avenue in Bala Cynwyd in November 2020. The Salon Project is not just another salon, “It is a revolution in the industry,” Warren said adding, “the concept revolves around a single stylist overseeing “one vision” brought to life for the client from check-in to check-out.”
The Salon Project was born from an a-ha moment when Warren, a leader in the haircare industry for over 30 years realized that, although styles and services were constantly evolving, the traditional salon model stayed the same. He created a salon experience that offers expert stylists, curated products, and state-of-the-art technology – and now he is bringing that all to
the Philadelphia area. Warren created a partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue in 2017, which includes a national roll-out of at least 12 salons, from the suburbs of Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey to St. Louis, San Antonio, Houston and Washington, DC.
At The Salon Project, customers are able to have multiple treatments with the same stylist from cut to color to Keratin treatments to extensions, eliminating the need to have contact with multiple stylists during one visit, making it convenient for the guest and easier to implement social distancing. iPads equipped with augmented reality technology can be used if a customer wants to virtually try on a cut, color or extensions or learn more about a product. And hairdressers can complete retail transactions with customers via iPad, again eliminating additional contact during social distancing. The Salon Project will adhere to all COVID best practices including requiring masks, socially distanced stations and the frequent sanitizing of high touch
“This is an exciting collaboration and one that has been in the works for a little while,” said Kirsh who was splitting his time between his Artur Kirsh Salon at the Bellevue in Philadelphia and at Warren’s Manhattan location as well as at his locations in Miami Beach and Boca Raton. Kirsh began his journey into the world of styling and cosmetology at the age of
sixteen. He moved to New York in the mid-1990’s, where he quickly made a name for himself as a promising young talent on the rise. After gaining experience at a Manhattan studio, Artur moved to Philadelphia.
Kirsh, specializes in coloring and a style called “dry cutting,”, and is well known in the fashion circle. He is the go-to stylist for models and local celebrities. Over the years, he has styled luminaries who range from local and national news reporters from all major networks to celebrities including Celine Dion, Kathy Griffin, Nicole Miller and Ken Downing. He has styled
the supermodels of New York and Milan’s Fashion Weeks, the Chanel Trunk Show, Christian Louboutin Fashion Show at Neiman Marcus, the Carmen Marc Valvo Fashion Show and the Derek Lam Fashion Show.
Warren’s celebrated clientele include Christie Brinkley, Jerry Hall, Cindy Crawford, Sarah Jessica Parker, Julianne Moore and Zoe Kravitz to name a few. He is a sought-after industry expert, appearing on dozens of television shows, magazines and blogs promoting his vision, including the Today Show, Wendy Williams, Vogue, GQ, Salon Today, The Cut, New York Post and many more.
